Poor service and unresponsive

BEWARE and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY...This was my 3rd time using them and we chose them because we had a good experience in the past...NOT THIS TIME. The driver (Miguel) asked for some furniture we were leaving behind and it took him about 20 minutes to remove this heavy furniture to the truck - I thought he would just take it with him when we were finished but he called his "friend" to come pick it up - I said we could not wait for his friend so he delayed an additional 15 minutes until his friend showed up and then moved all the items already packed and loaded to the moving truck back to his friends truck. Turns out that this extra 35 minutes was being charged to me and when the final number came in they said I owed for 4 hours and 30 minutes instead of 3 hours and 15 minutes. And this was a move that should have taken no more than 3 hours even at a snails pace. Of course I disputed this with Miguel and his dispatcher. I paid cash for what I actually owed and then the company put an unauthorized $211.25 charge on my credit card based on some unknown formula. No call backs after 6 phone calls and just a major run around. DO NOT USE THEM -No call back after 6 attempts and just a major run around.

Absolutely HORRIFIC experience to say the least!

I booked the move with Jay Ortiz, who seemed very kind and responsive. He quoted me $135/hour, and everything was confirmed for Friday, 3/11 between 8-10a. Two movers arrived promptly at 8a, a scrawny guy and a bigger one, which made us slightly concerned that they would get everything done. They started promptly, and confirmed that it would take them 1.5-2 hrs to get everything out.... it ended up taking them 4 HOURS just to move everything out of our 2 bedroom apt, and all we had left was furniture as we had moved all little items the week prior!!!

The bigger one was complaining that their foreman undersold them, and it should've been a 3-man job. My husband and I agreed with them, and were understanding. Then, when it came time to disassemble the beds, they said they didn't have any tools to do so because their foreman said there was no disassembly requested, which is a lie. My husband had to go out twice to get tools, which of course delayed the process even further!! Ok, fine, mistake here.

We FINALLY get everything out and the movers made a stop to pick up another piece of furniture at my parents. Per my mom, they were sitting around waiting at their house, when they could've easily knocked on the door. They were 100% trying to delay, so they could charge us more! NOT OK!

After picking up that piece, they finally arrive at our final destination and begin unloading the truck. They were THE SLOWEST of slow, and at one point, the bigger man walked in with just a 2 lbs. blanket ladder. My mom, who came to help, called him out and told him that he couldn't be just walking in with one measly item! He claimed that he needed to get all the little stuff out first... YEAH, OK!. So I decided it was finally time to call the foreman and complain. I spoke with both Jay and Frank, who were BEYOND rude, and I told them that they were extremely slow, and I was not going to be paying for a 10+ hr. move, when it was quoted 4 hrs (MIND YOU, WE NEVER SIGNED ANY KIND OF CONTRACT, SO WE WERE NOT LEGALLY BOUND). I requested a discount and confirmed they would give me $100 off.... THAT'S IT?! I told them both that that wasn't acceptable, and they then called the movers to have them stop moving things and threatened to pack up the truck and take it to their warehouse!!! They said they would not restart the move unless we paid upfront, which makes no sense given that the move was not complete!!! Like excuse me, but this is our property and am by no means legally bound to pay you!! After many calls back and forth, he then claimed that there was no discount, but luckily, we were on a recorded line.

After much arguing with both the movers and foreman. The bigger mover offered to move all things in 2 hours and leave. We agreed, and we finally got everything out, and they left. The foreman called me one last time and confirmed that I would get the $100 discount, plus $66 back, since they finished in 1.5 hrs vs. 2. Oh, thanks for the discount, Jay! So kind...

All in all, it was an absolute JOKE of a move... I will NEVER use them again, and I HIGHLY suggest against anyone using them unless you want to get severely taken advantage of and work with complete a-holes!

Oh, also, money is MAGICALLY missing out of one of our dressers, which neither my husband nor I moved prior....

Avoid this moving company at all costs (literally)!

Only two of the three people assigned to the job showed up and they had zero experience! They went through excessive amounts of packing materials, which I was charged for. I was on a deadline but had to adjust to their schedule which was delayed and then finished in a rush the following day. Everything went into storage for a few months and when I settled into my new home I was again extremely disappointed - thousands of dollars worth of home furnishings and heirloom pieces had either been broken or "lost." After weeks of replacing broken items and trying to figure out where my home office desk, supplies, and artwork went, I was offered a laughable settlement offer of $500.00! Completely unprofessional from start to finish.

Big family move

My family was so happy with the service received. We are a big family and had to move a huge amount of stuff. All the time movers made sure the furniture and boxes were safe. We appreciated they were very polite, patient with pour requests and friendly. For anyone moving the toughest part is dealing with people that are disrespectful and careless with your belongings, but these guys weren't the case, we knew we could trust them with everything. Highly recommended!

DO NOT USE! FRAUDULENT COMPANY, HELD MY ITEMS HOSTAGE AFTER THEIR MISTAKE

!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I hired Move Central based on the positive reviews and it was a huge mistake that has cost me big time.

The day of the move, my movers were scheduled to arrive 8am-10am and at 850am they called me to say that the movers got stuck on the hill outside of my apartment. They ended up stuck until almost noon, which was also the time when my hold at my building ended. During this time they did zero prep work. I paid another fee to hold the elevator and a move that should have taken 3hrs took 4hrs, and that was just to load the van. By this time I had missed the window at my new building which meant my dogs and I were stranded without all of my things, just the clothes on my back, for the night.

What was move centrals solution? Assurances that they would make it right. They'd give me a $100 credit for a hotel, they'd have the guy in charge that could reimburse me call me first thing next morning. Keep all the receipts so that they can reimburse me for the additional costs at my building too! They would take care of all of it. Next morning bright and early I get a call but it's from someone in billing telling me I must pay $1500 for the 4hrs of work if I want my stuff delivered that day. I was told I had to verbally sign the invoice and pay without seeing it. They inflated the price by charging $500 on for materials and work at the credit card rate because I can't give them cash over the phone. What about the man who was supposed to call me? Oh, he doesn't work Saturdays but he'll call you Monday and work with you to refund all of this! You're just paying the $1500 because if you don't, we won't let you have your stuff. Don't worry!

In the move into my new place, there was lots of damage to my things. Two examples: my desk was broken and had to be replaced, the posts on my bed have chunks missing out of it and the metal rails have deep scratches — just those two things are hundreds of dollars of damage.

When the movers finished, there was nothing for me to sign. They took one picture of the desk and a promise that they'd submit the claim on my behalf. It'd all be figured out Monday.

Three weeks later and there was still zero response from Move Central. The open claims on my items? Wouldn't respond. Every person you get on the phone is the wrong person yet every person you get on the phone can take your credit card. I had disputed the claim with my credit card and finally got a response from Move Central, during which they said the claim with my credit card company would be the resolution, a proxy for all the refunds they would have given me. I get my money back, we go our separate ways.

I thought this was behind me but found out today that not only did move central bill back the amount I disputed with my card but they also were putting out a claim as I hadn't paid for the second day of work. Wait, what? What bill did I not pay? I never got a bill for the second day, I never even got a paper to sign to end the move and finalize everything. Instead I had the pleasure of Move Central ducking all my calls for a month only to lie, take my money and the call back a month later to try and take more money.

I truly cannot stress enough: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I feel for their good reviews and have been out money for 3 months. $1500 + $400 I had to spend to house myself and my dogs while they had all my stuff in storage.

Heavy items move

Move Central's crew helped us move last week. I was stressed as we had a lot of stuff including a piano and other heavy items. They made light work of it and took all of the stress away. They are best at what they do. Took real care of everything and were very friendly. Next time I move I'll be using these guys and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Skilled and careful guys

Move Central were extremely skilled and did an excellent job. No broken items, no scratches and all walls intact! It was a pleasure to work with them and they also asked if there was anything else we needed before they left! Even if it was a hot day - the job was completed efficiently and with no fuss. I would absolutely recommend these guys for your next move!

Awful Experience

I was convinced that this was going to be the best move yet. However, this is a screwed up system #MoveCentralMoving&Storage has. They bring a moving truck to your house and stuff it full. Then they tell you that they are going to move all of this stuff into pods. $100/month storage for each pod. Movers at our house said we should be able to get everything in 3 pods. 5 pods later, we are paying $500/month for storage. We never got to see how full the pods were or how they are packed. Then to get my stuff back, they want all kinds of deposits. I figure they will put the pods on a truck and get right to me. When I scheduled the move out I was told they would be done at their facility and to my new apartment no later than 11. An hour and a half after that 2 guys showed up. I asked them to set up my beds, as Cesar assured me when I set up this move that they could do, and both men said they weren't the ones who took it apart and they don't know how to put it together. It took them >6 hours to get us out of a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom that was 90% packed for a total of $2700. Then they charge us $500 a month rent. Then they charged us $250 deposit to move out. The move out charges totaled $1047 and no made beds and everything left on my patio. I do know that moving is very expensive but I surely feel like #movecentralmoving&storage really took two old ladies for a ride on their moving cart.

How do I know how long it took them to load/unload the pods?

How do I know how full those pods were?

Too many questions and too much money spent.

Nobody informed me that I needed to pay for the move out service BEFORE my stuff was delivered. Pedro stopped the movers from off loading twice because I couldn't pay him quick enough.

Terrible, scamming moving company.

These guys are scammers. They got half way through the move, then declared I had bed bugs and couldn't finish the move unless I paid an additional $750.00. I said no way that Josh, the mover you could smell 20 feet away, who had to take a smoke every 15 minutes which really delayed the move, was lying. So they left me stranded and literally forced me against my will to pay. The next day, a new company came in, checked out the bed and reported that there were actually no bed bugs whatsoever, just like I knew it. Moving Central lied, scammed and they are inferior. At your request, I can give you the booking information and the forced payment receipts of cash and a letter from the new movers who declared that there were no bed bugs in my bed or any kind of bugs in my apartment at all. Move Central forced me to sign a blank screen which I put along with my signature "Josh Lied" and that "These guys are scammers" I signed it that way with my signature, because they forced me to sign a screen that would not show what I was signing. They were going to steal my stuff, which later I found out they can not take it. I asked for a refund and they refused to respond or send a copy of what they forced me to sign.

BEWARE of Move Central!

BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH WITH THIS COMPANY! They will provide you what appears to be competitive estimate upfront by under estimating the number of vehicles needed and number of hours to load. They did a video walk through of my house to give me an estimate and the salesperson, Jay Ortiz assured me one 26 foot truck was sufficient. On the day of the move, I was informed two trucks were actually required so the price of the move DOUBLED. I was left with zero choice and had to pay for their mistake. The entire cost of our move went from an estimate of around $6000 to about $12000. Since they have yet to deliver out things, I don’t know the actual cost since the amount of hours for them to unload is yet to be determined. The estimate showed 6 hours to load and they charged me over 13 hours.

Another thing to look out for is the payment. They gave me an hourly rate of $209 per hour for cash, cashiers check or wire transfer and $229 per hour for credit card. What they don't tell you until you've signed the agreement is that the biggest cost of the move is the travel fee has to be paid in cash. I preferred to pay by credit card since I wanted to have the option to file a dispute if there are damages to our things and they don't compensate us for them.
