Moving my 89-year-old father, Thomas. As of May 30, 2022, our plan moving to Long Island, NY to an Assisted Living so Thomas could be near family again. 4 days later Thomas is moving to Kona, Hawaii. Thomas decided he would rather go to Hawaii to be cared for by his daughter who lives in Kona. A very stressful time for our family.

Enter City Moving for the rescue!

My initial contact with City Moving sales (Mike S.), as a first-time Long-Haul customer I has several questions. City Moving educated me on the process and I felt confident in City Moving after also checking out 5 other long-haul movers to Hawaii. City Moving / Mike S. continued to be available to me for questions both via phone and email (very reassuring I made the correct decision with City Moving). The price quoted was better than others, our dates matched well with sailing dates, communications was good throughout the entire process on both ends, mine and City Moving. We even added items to the shipment just days before pick-up, City Moving gave us a fare rate even providing suggestions to help us re-think some items. We also had NO PROBLEMS.

At each stage of the process City Moving kept us informed.

Next up was City Moving’s Logistics / Danny. Communication is key and City Moving always kept us up to date via Phone, Email and Text. Logistics / Danny had all the details and status updates of our shipment. City Moving was very organized as each stage of the process happened, just as they explained it would, again very reassuring. We did have questions along the way and even a change of delivery address. We also had NO PROBLEMS.

Each City Moving Team (Las Vegas and Kona, Hawaii) was excellent, polite, efficient, and ON-TIME.

They communicated with us on the day of, respected all involved, the location and our goods. Both Teams provided us flexible pick-up and delivery date and times (greatly appreciated). We also had NO PROBLEMS.

About Payment – City Moving has several payment options to choose from, we choose a check payment for the deposit and online credit card payment for the balance on day of delivery. Again, NO PROBLEMS.

Mike - looking back at when you first called me on Friday June 3rd, and 9 business days later our goods were being picked-up from Vegas June 16 and on the way to the CA port for shipping. I just received a call from Danny that my goods leave port this weekend and will be delivered between July 5th - 17th. Pretty impressive.

City Moving did a great job, they were pro-active, organized and very professional and I highly recommend City Moving, an excellent moving company with great service and people.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $4323

I used this company when we moved from Hawaii to California. Service was great at the beginning, they worked with our schedule, met our needs and gave us updates regarding pick up, during transit and upon delivery. It was after our household goods were delivered that everything went south. Some of our good were damaged and so we submitted a claim. We followed the instruction on the claim form as directed and waited. When we didn't hear back from anybody after the aforementioned 10day follow up, I decided to give them a call to see what the status of our claim is. After over a month of following up nobody has yet to give me a solid update, it was either unreturned voice message, unanswered email, or a vague "someone will contact you." I was finally informed 36 days after I emailed them my claim form and other documents to the move captain that it was never received by the claims department. It is so appalling that this company who assured us professionalism when bidding for our business is behaving so negligently. The careless and apathetic way of handling our claim for damaged goods is very disappointing and frustrating that I wish I had used a different company.

Update (in regards to the company's response on google review):

It's so frustrating and appalling when companies like this one will continue to avoid responsibility and push the blame on the customer. Because I was following up regularly (almost once a week, 10 days after I reported my claim on 10/17), it was found out that the person in charge of my move that received my emailed claim form on 10/17/22 never forwarded the paperwork to the claims department. That is their own negligence. To say that they didn't hear from me until mid November is very deceiving to other reviewers reading this because I had been trying to get in touch with their staff via email and phone multiple times. And to top it off they refuse to compensate and take responsibility for damaged goods that their movers obviously mishandled. A tote bin that was labeled fragile was smashed and cracked down to the side, and they stated that it was owner packed and that they are therefore not liable. That is again negligence on their part that they are passing off responsibility. And yeah, thank you for the $12 compensation for an apple computer they damaged because that one the movers packed themselves. Laughable! This company is not worth your business. Use someone else.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $10000

This company is morally bankrupted! Make a lot of nice promises on the phoneuntil they get your deposit. They play the blame game. They are not a moving company they basically book incompetent non English speaking carriers where you would have to pay the initial fee and pay the carriers once they pick up and when they Deliver. They were 6 hours late for my pickup and no call from company or driver. Promised too deliver 2 days later, no call and no show. No updates. One driver with delivery of major appliances and my brother had too be called from work to assist with downloading for my 77 year old mother who waited for 2 weeks on needed appliances. I paid 2k from TN to SC for expedited service and this has been a nightmare. This man downloaded the three appliances, did not unwrap or hookup appliances as per contract. I called them all morning, phone rings for ten minutes and I called 3 times. This is customer service on Friday morning. I am disputing a portion of charges or taking to court. They won’t entertain a partial refund. That is when they get defensive and play blame games. DON’T BOOK THESE SCAMMERS!!!

From the first interaction to the last, Miguel and Andrea of City Moving were excellent. They stayed in touch and kept us informed on the status of the move. The pickup from our AZ home on 3/14/2022 was on-time, professional, and fast. The delivery to our Kaneohe condo on 4/11/2022 was amazingly fast, and the guys were strong, friendly, and courteous. I have an extremely heavy industrial sewing machine, and they were able to get it down a tight staircase and into a 2nd bedroom without any damage to them or the machine. Extremely pleased. We will definitely use City Moving for any future moves!

City Moving moved our household goods from Lahaina HI to Wickenburg AZ. From Mike in Sales to Richard in Customer Service to Joe who delivered our boxes, all had great attention to detail, were very helpful, and were accommodating. For example, Joe knew that we were under a tight timeframe to get our stuff unloaded and he really hustled to get the unloading done quickly. We’ve moved several times in the past with other movers and City Moving gave us the best overall experience by far.
