I booked weeks in advance for my Christchurch house move. Paid the deposit and got an email confirmation of my booking.

After waiting over an hour after they were due, I eventually got hold of someone in Auckland, (no reply from the local number), and was told they would not be doing my move. When I explained I had no choice but to move on that day all I got was “sorry for the inconvenience”. They first told me they had mechanical problems then admitted they overbooked. I’ve repeatedly tried to speak to the Christchurch branch to vent my anger but no one ever answers the phone.

The most unprofessional and incompetent bunch I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Never again!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $700

No respect for their customers property’s

Please do not use this company, because when something does go wrong they offer pathetic amounts to fix your furniture which they broke.

My next alternative is a solicitor.

Firstly I would like to say that the 2 movers who moved our house were both very polite, and efficient

Our home was mostly box’s already packed and some furniture beds dining suites couches etc the usual stuff

The move took a full day and was done in one large truck

The very big problem was, when we realised that the dining table was very badly damaged, we started off by supplying photos of the four leg brkts that were smashed due to the fact that multiple box’s were put on top of the table in transit.

We also supplied a receipt for the table and showed it was $1000 table.

CBD reply was to offer a $50 voucher

Then $50 and a voucher

Then $150 and a voucher

Lastly $170 and a voucher

We kept explaining that the bare minimum would obviously be to buy a new table fix or supply funds to the equivalent.

This has gone back and forth now for 4 weeks and still nothing

Please do not use this company as they do not care that the property you own is placed in their hands and when they break it they offer you a pathetic amount to fix.

The dining table was not broken when it went in the truck but was when placed in our new home.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1500

I had the pleasure of using CBD Packers & Movers for my recent house move, and I couldn't be happier with their service. From the initial consultation to the final delivery, they demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to customer satisfaction that was truly exceptional.

Booked movers, paid deposit, confirmed arrival on the morning and still didn't arrive for the move. We waited from 10 to 12, then they Said 12 to 2, and then when we didn't answer their calls because we were busy moving boxes in our cars, they canceled our truck - worst experience ever. They shouldn't be allowed to trade, such bad service and their attitude stink, well move you tomorrow,. NO SORRY WE TOOK LEAVE TODAY, you would think they don't need business, this was not acceptable at all. Luckily there are good companies out there that could help us and was interested in doing business. Would never recommend CBD to any one. -10 out of 10.

I used their services 4 years ago and it was ok. But now, not so much. Here's a few issues:

1. The movers were rushing the job and kept asking if that is everything. Every time we gave him an item, he will ask is that everything. Don't rush us man, moving is a very stressful time already!

2. Because they were in a rush, a few heavy items were left at the property!

3. They didn't even bring any of the beds upstairs in the bedroom and left everything in the lounge. I had to ask them to move the fridge and freezer to the kitchen but everything else was left in the lounge.

4. The guy asked me very rudely how I'll pay. I said EFTPOS because that was the agreement over the phone. He said I didn't bring the EFTPOS machine so I need to find another way. Again, moving is a very stressful day. You guys are not helping!

5. He wanted cash, I didn't have cash so I offered to bank transfer the funds. At this point, I was on an important call so I put the call on loud speaker so I can open my mobile banking app. The guy grabbed my phone (while I was on a call with someone) and he said he will enter the bank account number. What kind of behaviour is that? You don't grab other people's phone man.

6. At this point, I just wanted them off the property so when the transfer is done. They left to go to another job because they have to go to another job.

I am paying by the hour and I booked your service a month in advance. It's not my fault you double booked our move with another. It's not our fault you didn't bring an eftpos machine. Again, moving day is stressful I hired you guys to make it easier for us, buy we ended up moving most of our stuff to your truck and we now have to move them to each individual room. You are advertising a $190/hour 2 man and a truck moving services, but it's really just a pick up and drop off services.

I should have hired a trailer instead and saved me some money.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $510

Had to give them my drinks cos they didn't even bring water. Red flag number 1. Broke the handle on my drawer. Had a lift on their truck, putting only one item at a time on it, weighing from 10kg to 60kg. Carrying light things 1 at a time (time wasting tactics) They kept asking is that everything. We were shocked, everything here, needs to be moved. The driver struggled with parking and reversing, like it was our fault he struggled to get out of the driveway. Took sooo long to drive to our new place. They could barely lift anything. My partner had to help and he had a broken finger, and still moved quicker than the so called professional movers. What a joke. I recommend not using this company.

Worst movers ever, NEVER use this business. They drank my partner's drinks because they didn't have they brains to bring their own, they were weak, slow and inexperienced. They wasted time on the phone and chatted. They were rude and didn't bring eftpos machine even though I arranged to pay by card. They broke furniture and dragged out the job. The reviews on their website don't match independent review sites. It took them 45 mins to make the journey which took me 10 mins. They had bad attitudes, I can't stress enough how useless they were.
